The New Ford F-150 is Available in Arkadelphia
One of the most popular full-size pickup trucks on the road today, the Ford F-150 receives a few new additions to its classic design for the new model year. Automatic high beams and emergency braking are now standard on all models, and the Limited trim receives a new, turbo-charged V-6 engine that has traditionally only been placed in the Raptor trim.
Trim Levels
There are seven trim levels for the F-150, the XL, XLT, Lariat, King Ranch, Raptor, Platinum and Limited. Each trim level has three variations in cab size and three lengths for the truck bed. There are also six engines, and rear wheel drive is standard on all vehicles, although there is an option for four-wheel drive.
The base model F-150 has a V-6 engine that produces 290 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. Tow anywhere from 5,000 to 8,000 pounds depending on trim level and if the tow package is included. Gas mileage in the F-150 comes in around 20 miles per gallon under city driving conditions and 26 miles per gallon on the highway.
The exterior follows classic Ford lines, with a squared-off front end that features a generous grille and large headlights for superior illumination. Tires start at 17 inches and can go up to 22 inches in diameter.
The truck bed can vary in length from five and a half feet to eight feet and cabs can be regular, extended and super cabs. The interior is spacious, with room for up to six passengers in super cabs. The layout of the dashboard makes the touchscreen the most prominent feature. Utility features in the cabin include a gear locker between the front seats and cupholders and storage bins scattered throughout.
Safety features on the F-150 include blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control with pre-collision assist and a lane-keeping system that warns the driver of any unplanned lane changes. The Ford Sync3 system will link with a smartphone to integrate apps and navigation features at the driver's fingertips.
